Doug Brewer has hung around the darker fringes of the photography business for more than two decades, doing school photographs, supervising photographers for a large volume portrait business, and freelancing across a broad and dizzying range of subjects.

Sports. Music. Festivals. Museum artifacts. Travel. Community events. Doug has trained his eye on these and many more, producing an eccentric, yet stylistically singular, body of work that is as entertaining as it is truthful.

Doug makes his home in Richmond, Kentucky, with his wife and two children, who tolerate his ever-present camera. From his basement office/sanctuary, he serves his clients and confounds the categorists.

Owner and maintainer of the Pentax-Discuss Mail List, Doug also serves as a TEAM member for the Grandfather Mountain photo weekends in North Carolina, where he also sometimes presents his current work.

Doug's first book of collected photographs, How to Milk a Wooden Cow, is available through Blurb.com, and features a number of the photographs appearing on this site. Many of them are also available as prints, at reasonable prices. Reasonable to him, at least.
